Children are continually changing physically, mentally, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. Because they follow a general pattern of growth and development. Parents, teachers, guardians and child caregiver needs to be abreast with common characteristics of different age-groups to appropriately handle them and effectively engage them in the learning of the word of God.
Some children may develop faster or slower than others their age. For example, a particular six-year-old may fit more closely the age characteristics of a five-year-old or a seven-year-old. Remember also that children may temporarily revert to younger behaviour during emotional stress or tension.
Therefore bible lessons must be arranged with children’s growth characteristics in mind to help meet children’s needs.
Regardless of the age-group being engaged, activate patient, respect, unconditional love and sensitivity toward each child.
It is our prayer that the following series would be a blessing with understanding of the stage of the child and suggestions to help parents, child attendants, children instructors and the like for better and effective bible study period.
